Halloween '23
Nov. 1st, 2023 07:39 am It was unfriendly weather to be trick-or-treating in, but then I suppose it often is. We had our first vist before it was properly dark and were finished before seven. In between things got quite lively- but this is a well-behaved suburb and breeds well-behaved kids. Some of them even said, "Thankyou."
One girl congratulated me on how I'd decorated the porch and at first I thought she was being sarcastic because we hadn't done anything except put an (uncarved) pumpkin out front, but then I thought she may have been seen our Korean house-guardians over my shoulder. They'e on permanent display but she wasn't to know that.

I was handing out squishies- not sweets but jelly-like things you hold in your hand and- well- squish. They're cute. They represent the usual oogly-booglies. They relieve tension. Wendy gave us the idea- and the kids seemed to appreciate getting something a little different. One kid went running back down the drive to her dad, shouting "I've got A TOY!"
