We've Been On The Market Now For 24 Hours

Four sets of people toured the house yesterday. They were all very respectful and pleasant. One older guy even took off his shoes (unasked) before walking on our carpets. Only the first group stayed for more than five minutes.

Nothing so far this morning, except for the arrival by mail of a bunch of estate agent's flyers from the Isle of Sheppey. I did some web research on Sheppey last night and now know the best places to go to score crack or hang out of an evening with a can of special brew. 

So much packing to do! We filled three boxes yesterday and bunny used them as stepping stones to get up onto the table in the front room, where he tried to dig himself a burrow in a bowl of cactus.

One good thing about U.S. realty: the owner is expected to be elsewhere while the realtor shows the house.

We could have opted for that, but, in the event, showing people round proved a fairly painless business.

I have heard nothing since Sunday. Maybe all the people who were so white-hot have cooled off.

They put down earnest money and hope to close July 10.

Oh, congratulations!

We just got back from a lightning house-buying trip to the far end of the country. We've put in an offer on a house we like. Whee, but things are buzzing....
