As Winter Gives Way To Spring
This is the first morning for a while when the temperature is above freezing. I know because I dipped my finger in the bird bath on my way to the shed.
I was digging in the garden yesterday and disturbed a slow worm. Body of a snake, head of a lizard- like a very, very, very small dragon. It wanted me to think it was dead. When I wasn't looking it wound itself back into the soil.
Every morning, round about sunrise, a vast collective of starlings goes winging over the house.
We have a single crocus in flower. The house across the road has daffodils.
