Cars, Junk, Ghosts

poliphiloWe're going to be exchanging our very big car for a very small car. The big car wouldn't fit in the garage but the small car will. We spent some time yesterday shifting things around in the garage to make room.
I'm so used to charity shops welcoming my donations with smiling gratitude that I was a little taken aback when the young man who was loading junk into a pantechnicon outside the charity "superstore' asked me if I'd spoken to the people in the shop about the things I was dumping on them. "Um"... I said. At which point the young woman came out of the shop and said, "Those cushions aren't very clean..." I'd already chucked some of my stuff in a wire cage I'd have had difficulty extracting it from so they accepted the fait accompli but asked us to take the rest of the rubbish home with us. Today it went to the tip. "What've you got?" asked the man. "Cushions," we said. "Take them to the big bay on the far side of the wall," said the man, "and chuck them as far as they'll go." It was sort of fun....
I dreamed about ghosts last night. First I went into "my father's room" and there was nobody in it but I could hear breathing. Then I caught a ghost going downstairs. It had a smudgy chalky quality. I chucked a cushion at its head with no effect. I caught up with it in the kitchen. Close to it had recognisable features- and was lit from within. I noticed a resemblance to the actor Felix Aylmer. He congratulated me on how well I was doing...
