There was a development at the end of episode four, you might almost call it a plot development: Juliet Berto stole some letters on the off chance they might contain something she could use (money for instance) which- when she came to read them- hinted at the existence of Les Treize. Perhaps now her path will cross that of Jean-Pierre Leaud who has been investigating the mysterious secret society for a while now. Berto and Leaud both play small time grifters- eccentric, lonely souls. Leaud has a quality that is Chaplinesque. Or should that be Keatonesque? A little of both, I think. Berto has a face- with drooping eyes- that is pre-formed for melancholy. They also happen to be two of the most beautiful people existing on the planet at the time of filming...
