Adjusting

She called me in the night, only of course she didn't. I was prepared for this happening and disregarded it.  "Told you so," I said to myself.

We rang the home yesterday morning and the spokesperson said she was settling in beautifully and was currently  down in the dining room making new friends. The bit about new friends is obviously fanciful.

We've started rearranging the two downstairs rooms that served as her bedroom and sitting room. The bedroom will be our living room and the sitting room will be Ailz's study.

We're getting rid of the TV because neither of us watches it any more.

It is a novelty for us to be able to go out together without having first arranged cover. It's something we haven't been able to do for years.

I sometimes wonder why we have a TV but then he does like the occasional bit of sport (although with the Commonwealth Games he even watched the hockey (his sport) online.

Have a whale of a time!

I don't know anybody involved involved in your case, but based on the experiences of the elderly parents of various people I know, she *might* be making new friends. There have been surprises about what people or activities suddenly were interesting to people, especially those in new facilities.
