Walking Inland
May. 3rd, 2022 09:04 amI walked inland for a change, hoping I might find footpaths out onto the marsh. I didn't, which is not to say they don't exist. What I did find was a paved path with a drainage ditch beside it that winds along the boundary between the houses and the marsh and comes out onto the big road- Lottbridge Drove ( a former drovers track presumably) where all the superstores are. In a nice piece of timing- synchronicitous even- A mother was explaining to her son, just as I went past them, that the path follows the old railway track. For much of the way the land on the marshy side has been developed into a community garden- a fancier term for allotments.
I completed the circuit, walking down Lottbridge Drove, turning onto Seaside and so home. Tesco is on the corner of Lottbridge and Seaside- so what I've found is a more scenic way of getting there on foot- with wildflowers and garden sheds and moorhens en route...
