That Was Then, This Is Now

I'd thought so much in advance about how odd it would be to drive past the old house that when we actually did it I felt nothing in particular. You can't see the property from the road- just a glimpse- and barely that- of the fields I used to patrol. Writing about it now I feel a twinge of nostalgia. It was fun to play Lord of the Manor.

We dropped the disability aids off at the depot in Aylesford, drove home, picked up Ailz's wheelchair- which has been having itself serviced- and went to the pub. We've decided The Crown and Anchor- just across the road from the pier- is our "local". They do a vegan menu, have Harvey's on tap, the furnishings are brown and there's a parking spot just outside the front door which always seems to be free...

I've only sold a house once, but I was surprised how instantly afterwards I had, not just literally, "moved on".
