Getting Things Sorted

Julia and Bean will be transporting plants in pots and gardening tools and all that kind of thing for us. She and I walked round the garden this morning going, "We'll take that, leave that, and actually that pot's nice even if some animal has dug up and eaten the bulb that used to be in it..." I hesitated over the rosemary bush that's in the stone urn on the patio because it seemed mean to leave the urn empty but Julia said she could plant it up with something else...

It's Mary's birthday. As I was getting her present ready for the post (the book of True Ghost Stories we bought a while back) it struck me- as it hadn't before- that she has the same name- Mary Allen- as my maternal grandmother. It's as if my granny- of whom I was very fond- had just given me a little wave...
