Soft Southern Jessies

The power was off yesterday afternoon and evening. Wendy lent us a single ring butane gas camping stove. Cooking on it by candlelight was fun.

The power returned at 1.00am- and I got up and switched the dishwasher on.

The electricity company had a note on its website yesterday which said (in effect) "We're far too busy mending things to give you information on how we're doing."

I dreamed I was Sir Gawain (looking a bit like a young Sean Bean)- and was being questioned about myself by Sir Lancelot- who was an attractive non-binary person with long black hair. I told them I was from the north- from a place near Newcastle- and I'd come down to Arthur's court to measure my prowess against that of his knights- who I described as a bunch of "soft southern Jessies."

The weather continues wet and windy.

'Soft southern jessies' is a right Cheshire phrase or saying.

Around here it tends to be 'nellies'.

Shame sometimes that we must awaken.
