Christmas Morning

poliphiloIt rained over night. Christmas Day dawned misty and damp. I switched the Christmas tree lights on first thing to show willing. They're flashing blue and white in the next room.
I'm part way through binge-watching Season 3 of the BBC sitcom Ghosts. Sometime over the season I may take a look at Mark Gattis' dramatization of the M. R. James story ghost The Mezzotint, and possibly also his TV remake of The Amazing Mr Blunden- a story about ghosts. Things I won't be watching include everything else and most especially the Queen's Christmas message. If it doesn't have ghosts in it I'm not interested.
Pics are pinging up on the phone of kids wearing and posing beside their Christmas presents. My mother calls me into her bedroom and says she's missing her watch. I fetch it for her. "I suppose it's too late to be getting up," she says. "Too early," I reply...
I'll be having curry for lunch. Ailz says she'll be having noodles.
