Probably the best so far.

Great opening.

I'd like to have seen more of Eric Sykes.

Rupert Grint irritates me. Someone tell him that "less is more".

Bugger the story! I'd happily spend three hours taking the tour of Hogwarts.

Brendan Gleeson!

Brendan Gleeson's mad eye!!!

Are today's 14 year old boys really so behind-hand with the girls?

I could kick Harry and Ron for being so mean to the Patel sisters.

When it comes to emotional interplay, these scripts are pretty sketchy and predictable.

Hire better writers!

Frances de la Tour is just so sexy!

The dragon was cool. So were the mermaids.

Loved the maze. Pity they didn't do more with it.

I'm not scared of triffids; is anybody?

When you've seen one Dark Lord you've seen 'em all!

This one is a little lacking in the nose department.

Why can't Dark Lords be pretty?

I think I'm in love with Moaning Myrtle.

Well, I realize he's not He Who Must Not Be Named or anything, but I find Lucius Malfoy quite pretty and certainly at the Dark end of the spectrum...

I agree, I would think that a dark lord would be seductively beautiful.

Yeah Malfoy's fine. Byronic, even.

HWMNBN could take some tips from him.

Exactly.

Where's the attraction in evil if it's all mist and graveyards and people without noses?

Who in their right minds would want to live in Mordor?

He will be...the point is that he's not fully regenerated yet. chuckle There's a reason they chose Ralph Fiennes for the role, and that's so later on, he can become the sexy Tom Riddle.

Excellent.

So there is a plan....

As you can probably tell, I haven't read the books....

Awwwww, man....

They had to strip out 2/3 of the plot to make the damn thing fit to time. The dragon *was* cool, and so was the maze. I thought Ralph Fiennes made a splendid Voldemort, hissing about with balletig grace.

But I would have cheerfully sat through a LOTR-length film to have had a bit more texture and nuance.

That would be *balletic* grace.

in book six we found out that he once was quite handsome, and there's a good reason he's not anymore (but not exactly in the cliche "doing evil things makes people look evil" way)

the book is much better written. the film butchered hermione's post-yule-ball outburst.

I have read book 6, my comment was in regards to Dark Lords in general :)

It's an enormous book, right?

I rather liked the speed of the exposition.

Texture, nuance? Yes I'd have liked a little more. I thought the emotional stuff was handled quite crudely.

You tempt me to read the book. Or bits of it, anyway. I thought the ball and its aftermath was the ropeiest thing in the film.
