Ailz spoke to an estate agent and requested a valuation. "It's a doer-upper," she said.

The estate agent replied, "No worries. That won't put the buyers off. We just sold a house with no ceilings."

It would deter me- at this stage of the proceedings. I've lived with builders dismantling a house around my ears- but I was younger then- and I'd rather not do it again.
