Clocks

The clocks went forward last night. Now my clocks think its 2.30 and my body thinks it's 1.30. I'm so mixed up I'm still slouching around in my dressing gown.

Why do they keep doing this to us?

There's a digital clock in the back room with a calendar display. I punched all its buttons in various combinations and managed to get it telling the right time, but nothing would persuade it that the date wasn't Jan 1 2000.

I'm travelling to the States for the first time later this year and I really don't know how I'll cope with jet lag when the 1 hour difference of summer time confuses my body for weeks.

Jet lag is hell....

It'll be even worse from October when they start the Lighter Evenings Experiment. GMT+1 in the winter and GMT+2 in the summer for three years ;-) At least there will be lighter evenings all year round.

They're really going to do that? Oh Lor!

Yep, you can read about it here (http://www.publications.parliament.uk/pa/ld200506/ldbills/048/2006048.htm) :-)

I just wish they'd leave the bloody clocks alone!

in arizona they do leave the clocks alone! so as a result, in the winter we're on mountain time and in the summer we're on pacific time.

you'd think this would be less confusing, but it puts us out of sync with the rest of the world and thus is confusing as all hell. for example, when i moved here in august, we were on pacific time, so i figured out when to watch my tv shows on pacific time, then we switched over to mountain time and i gave up. now i just don't watch tv.

Yes, that would be confusing.

But here in Britain we're all in the same time zone.

haHA! Here in Arizona we don't play the daylight savings time game, ornery stubborn bastards that we are.

I love it. Except I can never remember what time everyone else is on.
