Joe's girlfriend Sara is a hairdresser. She just spent £70 on a pair of scissors. Apparently this is the bottom end of the market. Go to the top end and you can multiply that figure by ten.

The best scissors come from Japan.

I had no idea, but I am not surprised. I once worked in Fusion Research for Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and one of the experiments was a Large Coil Test that was comprised of eight superconducting giant magnets, each made by different facilities around the world. The Japanese magnet was polished to a fine sheen and was accompanied by scientists who presented it with a formal tea ceremony.

The United States magnet was dripping with oil, and some of the welds were not coreect.
