Cuckmere Haven

If you stand on the shingle beach at Cuckmere Haven and look to your left you see the first of the The Seven Sisters.

And if you look to the right you see the Cuckmere river entering the sea. The tide was coming in strong and the guy in the green canoe was making painfully slow progress. The buildings in the background are the famous coastguard cottages that- shot from the far side with the cliffs behind- are pictured in any number of calendars- also in the movies.

Wonderful contrast of colors, though.

What a striking landscape. :) And such beautiful colours, as others have said.

The colour of the canoe is really pretty but I'm always fearful for people in them. There are some people canoeing down my river sometimes and when I saw a man alone, by himself in the strong current, all I could do was grip the railing with white knuckles and wish that he would just steer to the shore and come away. I was that frightened for him and he could have been an expert for all I knew. ^^ I'm lame...

Do you get crazy people standing right on the edge of the cliffs taking selfies?
