A Breaking Wave

And on our day out this week we drove to St Mary's Bay on the edge of Romney Marsh and parked the car by the sea wall and had a picnic. The rolls were still icy from the freezer so we used the car's heater to defrost them. Neither the mushroom pate nor the vegan "cheese" were all that wonderful.
Ah, but the sea, the sea...
Folkstone lies behind the first headland- and beyond it, fading into the mist, are the white cliffs of Dover.

I have stopped being able to sleep again and read this sentence as beginning "Folklore lies . . ." and that seemed accurate, too.
