Will our bloody-minded northern cities- which have no love for London and even less for tories- be willing to accept the restrictions being imposed on them by a London-centric tory government?

And if they don't what will that government do- send in the army?

We were discussing this over breakfast this morning and came to the conclusion that that is precisely what they are likely to do, given Bojo as wannabe dictator.

As two squaddy kids were were uncertain what senior brass would make of that!

Johnson isn't much liked or respected- even by those who are notionally in his camp. Can he command obedience from the instruments of the state? He ought not to count on it.

Our forces swear their oath of allegiance to the monarch of the day, not the government of the day.

Not sure how many of them are aware of that!
