In the post this morning is an email from the CEO of Marstons. We got on their list by staying at one of their hotels a while back. They're closing all their pubs (making it sound as if they did it by themselves and not because they were ordered to) and looking into other things they might be doing with their premises and resources- like offering takeaway and delivery services.
The shutdown is going to lead to a lot of social experimentation- maybe some inventions too. And some of the clever things we come up with will stick.
