poliphiloThe cat was sitting on the window sill- which usually means he wants to be let in- so I opened the door and called him- and he stayed put.
"Leave the door open," said Ailz.
And I did- even though there's frost on the grass and a skin of ice on the bird bath...
So something has changed. Ailz and I know it because otherwise we wouldn't dream of leaving the door open and the cat knows it or he'd be hurrying to come back inside...
And Mr P the pheasant knows it or he wouldn't be strutting outside the window going, "Come on girls, you know you want to have my babies"- which to human ears sounds like "Cuck, cuck, cuck, cuck, cuck..."
And the thing that has changed is that Spring is here- not just in theory, not just because the meteorologists say so, not just because the daffodils are out- and we feel it on our pulses...
