Orbs And Strawberries
Feb. 12th, 2024 10:09 am Jim videoed my talk on Simplicity. Once he's edited it he'll put it up on the Eastbourne Quaker website.
I stood at an improvised lectern. When was the last time I spoke that formally? Probably in the mid nineties. I remember being invited- as a Wiccan- to speak at a Christian training college to an audience full of Biblical fundamentalists. Afterwards, so I heard, some of the students held a cleansing service to rid the room of the heretical- not to say, Satanic- vibes.
I watched some of Jim's video. I see I haven't lost my pulpit skills and mannerisms.
And, oh my word, there are orbs- several of them- crossing the screen at the very beginning.
Sej can be heard in the background.
The actual talk came easy. What I found stressful was the free for all afterwards. Not that people were aggressive but that there were times when it seemed we might be about to lapse into a long embarrassing silence.
I closed things down after 50 minutes and we all toddled off to the kitchen to eat pizza and bread and dips and cakes...
And strawberries.
Because there were strawberries. Yes!
