Regardie And White

 I dreamed I was living in college- and I'd hung my room with pictures. Next to the bed was a photograph of the magician (real life magician, one-time protegee of Aleister Crowley) Israel Regardie. I woke in the night and Regardie's picture was gone. I was reaching down beside the bed to feel if it was on the floor when Regardie himself walked into the room. "O David," I said, hugging him (because in the dream he was called David) "You've fallen off the wall!" "Never mind about that," he answered. "But you might want to take down that picture of Gilbert White's (the naturalist's) study. White had some pretty subversive things to say about religion in his day, and the college wouldn't be happy if they knew it was there."

No,  I haven't a clue. Regardie, White: why on earth are they getting into my dreams? And why is White- an Anglican clergyman of scrupulous orthodoxy (so far as I know)- characterised by Regardie as a notorious heretic?
