One Degree Above
Nov. 26th, 2023 10:17 am The temperature this morning, says Ailz, is one degree above zero. I dabbled my fingers in the birdbath as I walked to the shed and the water was a kind of icy slush- betwixt and between.
Ailz has had a cold and now she's over it I have one of my own. We arrange things so we don't get poorly together. It would never do for us to be incapacitated at the same time.
Not that I'm actually incapacitated. I could be out and about if I pushed myself. It's just that I have a concience about passing germs around. Was it always so or or does this date from the pandemic? I can remember taking church services when I had the flu- because if I didn't nobody else would. And also of processing up the aisle in state of abstraction (due to some illness or other) and having to do my damnedest not to faint.
