Filling Shelves

 

The new book shelves are installed. Now I'm filling them.  I've divided them into four sections. 1. Literature (roughly arranged along a time line.) 2. Spiritual and esoteric (Woo-woo for short.) 3. Art 4. Miscellaneous. which covers everything from The Encyclopaedia of the Old West to Marianne Faithful's Autobiography. It's ten years since I had books arranged in any kind of order. When we moved to the farm I packed them into boxes higgledy-piggledy and unpacked them the same way. It became routine that if I wanted any particular title I had to hunt for it through five or six different bookcases- and couldn't always find it.  Now I'll be able to go straight to whatever it is I want...

Talking About The Weather

 Me: All this rain we're getting must be setting records.

Him: What about the extraordinary rains we had twenty years ago? Forty days and forty nights without a break. 

Me: We were living in Manchester then. We won't have noticed the difference.
