Soup And Tap
Sep. 5th, 2023 09:01 am The Trans flag has horizontal stripes like the Pride flag and the colours, reading from the top (or the bottom actually) are pale blue, pink, white, pink, blue. I should have worked it out- because the symbolism is fairly obvious- but we asked and were told. We were eating lunch at the Soup and Tap- a cafe on the main drag in Eastbourne.
Every table had a little clutch of flags stuck in a pot with the cutlery. They were the Union Jack, the Pride Flag and the Trans flag.
It was a glorious Indian summer's day and we out on the pavement in the shade. Highly continental. We ordered tapas. They were wonderful. And drank craft beer. Had we been bolder we could have been drinking wonderfully coloured cocktails.
I've never been one for cocktails but it's never too late for a new experience.
Once in a blue moon (and we've just had one of those) you happen on an eatery that is as much labour of love as commercial project. Oh, the joy....
