Deep Clean

We had the house deep cleaned by a professional yesterday- and now I'm nervous about touching any surface or even walking across the floor. Watching her down on her hands and knees scrubbing away at the carpet with a handheld vaccuum was humbling...

One And One

We live in duality. With opposites. With choices between this and that.  Good-evil, black-white, war-peace, friend-enemy.

This is not how the universe is. This is only how our corner of the universe- planet Earth- has been set up.

If life is a video game (a useful analogy which will carry us quite a long way) then planet Earth has been set to the the most difficult level there is- the champion's level. It's meant to be hard- and no-one incarnates here who isn't willing to be tested to the max.

And the challenge is to recognise the duality for what it is- an artificial construct that can be transcended. Behind the duality lies the Unity. We get glimpses of it now and then. And we have been given instructions for realising it. Instructions like "Love your enemies".

The duality isn't a "bad" thing, just the setting for this particular game-play. Knowing how the Unity can be broken down helps us to appreciate it. Dealing with duality may only be a game but it's a serious game. It serves the Unity and our individual consciousness as a facet of the Unity.

We will have completed the game when we have understood- and applied in our everyday lives- the seemingly nonsensical formula- "One and One makes One."
