I haven't looked at any instrument to find out exactly how hot because I know what my senses say and I trust them.

I had a letter to post. I walked to the post box and back again. That was enough time in the sun. On the way I admired all the colour in people's front gardens.

In our garden we have poppies blooming. Big, fuck-you, opium poppies. We had a few last year, they seeded and now we have a thick clump of them. At the moment there are four blooms- they appeared overnight- soon there'll be many, many more.
