Such Freedom

 Now that we've given up the car it has become impractical to travel with suitcases so I've bought a big backpack. When did I last use a backpack? Probably when I was 20 and travelled- walking and hitching- from one end of France to the other. 

Ah, such freedom!

Now what I need is a hat. Like the one I wore on that adventure. It was an Australian bush hat. I looked round when I was in Millets the other day, buying the back-pack, but all they had was beanies and caps. 

I must ask Terry where he got his hat. It's not a bush hat but it has a high crown and a wide brim and I covet it. If I had one of those it would accentuate my already striking resemblance to Lee Van Cleef...
