Early One Morning
Dec. 28th, 2022 08:59 amWe're used to getting up early, but today we got up an hour earlier than usual for an MRI appointment that Ailz had been offered following a last minute cancellation.
The scan took 45 minutes- and I sat in the waiting room listening to Smooth Radio and randomly browsing Wikipedia. I now know certain things about German art and architecture that I didn't know before. I can see what the Nazarenes were trying to achieve (they were sort of pre-pre-Raphaelites) but the art they were emulating- Perugino and early Raphael- is too smooth for my taste- just like the music that was playing in the background. However I enjoyed my virtual visit to Ulm Minster- which has the tallest church spire in the world.
In an hour or so we're heading up to London for the last of this year's Xmas-themed gatherings.
