Still A Bit Shaky
Sep. 11th, 2022 04:54 pmI was still a bit shaky this morning and in two minds about going to Meeting, but I wasn't nauseous and, besides- I thought- if the Queen can rise from her deathbed in order to swear in her latest Prime Minister (her 15th I believe) I can get a grip on my wobbly self and go sit in a chair for an hour...
Had we so wished we could have taken ourselves down to the Town Hall mid-afternoon and heard an official (the mayor? the town cryer? Whoever it was I hope they wore a tabard) tell us what we already knew about the accession of Charles III. I can't decide whether this official game of lets pretend that news travels no faster than a man on a (very slow) horse is more charming than silly or more silly than charming.
When the Beatles broke up I was all for John Lennon and paid very little attention to what Paul McCartney was doing. This I now find was a mistake- and "Back Seat of my Car" is currently my favourite Beatles song that isn't quite a Beatles song.
