Street By Street
Mar. 30th, 2022 08:30 amWe never expected to live at the farm for as long as we did and it always felt like a stopover whereas Eastbourne feels like a destination.
I want to get to know it street by street.
I asked the newsagent if he had a street map and he said he thought he had and went to the rack and riffled through his stash and selected one with a cover that wasn't too badly creased. "Not a lot of people use these nowadays," he said.
I suppose I could get an app, but just as I prefer to read a printed book so I prefer to have a printed map in my hands.
I got myself to the shops by marching down the broad highway called Seaside but with the help of my map book I navigated home by the twisty residential streets round the back.
