As January Draws To An End

Someone left a gate open yesterday morning (I don't think it was me) and three of the horses let themselves out onto the drive. There were four of us on site- including one of my mother's carers who showed up at just the right moment- and we managed to herd them back into the field. My contribution consisted of standing in the driveway with my arms extended pretending to be wider than I am. A big panicky horse that's clattering about on a hardcore surface is a scary object.

My mother called me four times during the night to tell me she wanted to get up. She did it at hourly intervals. I wish she wouldn't.

I noticed this morning that the snowdrops are out.
