Under Pressure

Normally there'd be three or four people at the local surgery, staffing the desk and the telephone and the dispensary, but yesterday- when Ailz went in for an appointment- there was only one. All the rest were down with Covid. A notice at the desk said (in so many words) "We know staff shortages are causing you problems but please don't shout at the people who have actually shown up for work."

Accepted

Our offer on the Eastbourne house has been accepted.

I did a little dance.

There's a hope- shared by everyone in the chain- that we can get this thing finalised by the end of February.

Speaking to our estate agent, we learned a little more about the couple who are buying the farm. He says they want to run it as a small holding, have a big vegetable patch, a few sheep in the fields- and so on. It makes me happy to know that the farm is going to be a farm again...
