Staying Local
Oct. 7th, 2021 07:12 pmToday I ate a vegan egg. It looked very like a hard boiled egg that had been halved lengthways- but tasted like something completely different. I'm not sure I see the point of copying the outward form if you're not also going to replicate the flavour but it wasn't nasty- in fact quite the reverse. Anyway, I'm happy to have had the experience.
It was our day off and we didn't go far because we were trying to conserve petrol. We drove to Sevenoaks, had lunch (in Wagamama's) did some shopping, then came home via Tonbridge and did some more shopping. As we were leaving we saw that the Sainsbury's garage in the town centre had petrol and no-one was queuing, so we filled up. Then on the way home, through Pembury, we passed another garage that had petrol- and a completely empty forecourt. Panic over? Seems to be.
