Back From Cornwall

Julia is back from Cornwall where she got to see some of the carry-on around the G7 Summit: warships off the coast, warplanes carving up the sky, roadblocks holding up traffic, Airforce 1 making the house tremble as it delivered Biden to his destination. Locals, she said, were reluctant to serve in the hotels where the VIPs were staying so staff got bussed in from other parts of the country- and wherever they landed there are now covid spikes.

The garden has flourished during her absence and needs some taming. This morning she's strimming paths through the meadows that were lawns until we re-wilded, and the damp air is heavy with the smell of petrol.
