Dietary Notes
May. 18th, 2021 09:17 amA lot of standard issue foods turn out to be "accidentally" vegan. Jam doughnuts for instance. I have always loved jam doughnuts.
We bought one of Greggs' notorious vegan sausage rolls the other week. It tasted exactly like a traditional sausage roll.
Sausages, by the way, are a meaty food for which more than adequate vegan substitutes exist. We buy ours from Meatless Farm.
I hear that Dr Oetker have produced a pizza with vegetarian cheese that isn't "sticky". I have been missing pizza.
Things I eat a lot of include: pasta, curry, bread, satay, chips, rice. I do eat green stuff too- mainly in the curries.
Apart from the doughnuts I eat very little sweet stuff. I've discovered chocolate makes me feel not ill exactly but slightly off-colour.
I drink four cups of tea in a day (Tsar Nicholas II Russian Caravan) plus one cup of coffee and one small glass of wine. Beer and water are for special occasions....
