We took a pic-nic lunch to the top of Firle Beacon. The lunch consisted of the heel of a loaf that Ailz baked last week, two pots of humus purchased from Eggs To Apples in Hurst Green and a bottle of apple juice from Owletts of Lamberhurst, also purchased at Eggs to Apples.

There was a warm breeze. From the spot we'd chosen we had a view out over the sea. I knew we were looking at Newhaven because of the thing they have in the west harbour that looks like an oil rig platform.

After we'd eaten we went for a short walk. On the northward facing lower slopes a man in a bright yellow Tonka Toy was bringing in the hay.

And here are some bales that are yet to be collected.
