One Job I Can't Put Off Any Longer

The washing machine- which has been showing signs of age- and which we've already taken steps to replace- has just flooded the boiler room. As they escaped the waters encountered spilled cat litter and turned it to liquid mud.

We- by which I mean the British electorate- should be reading Dominic Cummings' blog- because he's running things now. I don't pretend to get all his references- but it's surprisingly readable (racy even) and his drift is clear- though drift is entirely the wrong word because he's surging not drifting. What he plans to do- using the Johnson government as his hammer- is entirely remake the British State- starting with the Circumlocution Office Ministry of Silly Walks Civil Service. Out with "the public school bluffers", in with the "misfits and weirdos". It's a heroic aspiration- revolutionary even- and will be furiously opposed by those with cosy jobs and cosier pensions at stake...
