May. 7th, 2019 07:49 pmThe sitting room has lacked a door for decades. We decided it could do with one and engaged Baw to do the work. He was here yesterday and the noise and business were getting on my mother's nerves.
My Mother: What is he doing?
Me:: He's putting a door on.
My Mother: (in her daughter of the big house voice) Your father took that door off.
Me: (to whom that voice is a red rag to a bull) And I'm putting it back.
My Mother: (still on the high horse) Actually you don't have the right....
Me: (still seeing red) So take it off again...
My Mother (Retreating in some confusion but grudgingly) No, no, do what you want...
My Mother: What is he doing?
