At The Birling Gap

The sun was low on the horizon, turning the white chalk of the Seven Sisters a wonderful, buttery yellow. I shouldn't really have walked so far along the beach because I was risking two things: 1.turning my ankle on the rocks and 2. having something drop on my head- possibly one of the hobbyists who were flying their buzzy machines out over the sea -some of whom were standing awfully close to the edge of the cliff...

This was at the close of the day that had seen me walking up by the Long Man. It was my birthday- and my birthday treat was to visit two of the landscapes I particularly love...

That's gorgeous.

Happy (belated) birthday!
