A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night

Someone called this the first Iranian vampire spaghetti western. Well, there's mariarchi-type music on the soundtrack- but no gun play- and very little action of any kind. It's more like a Hammer horror directed by one of the 60's arthouse guys- Antonioni for instance- very slow, very moody, very retro.- set in a landscape of chugging oil wells and grotty little bungalows.  The vampire wears a chador and is touchingly alien.
