A day after we found out that 114 documents relating to child abuse by VIPs have gone missing from the Home Office we've been told that Leon Brittan was interviewed by police last month about a rape allegedly committed in the 1960s.

One has had to be so careful about what one said about Lord Brittan. Now one can put his name in a sentence that contains the word rape and not be fearful.

I didn't sleep through this one. I was backing Federer for sentimental reasons but Djokovic was a worthy winner. Both men had something to prove and both had their chances. I imagine it will go down in the books as one of the great finals.
