Tomorrow is effectively the last- but in effect- the biggest day of the season for us; we're going to Becky's for the annual family get-together. Presents will be exchanged, there'll be food, there'll be kids; it'll be great...

But that song by Wizard: I don't agree with it. Christmas is wonderful but to have it every day would be dreadful- like that everlasting tea-party in Wonderland. Fun is only fun when it's the exception not the rule.

Do you take down lights and decorations promptly after Christmas?

Here in Denver, the unofficial tradition is that Christmas lights can remain up through the Denve Stock Show in mid-January.

(Back in Texas, many people/places left Christmas lights up year-round!)

When I was a kid the rule was you took them down on Jan 6- the feast of the Epiphany. These days I just go with how I feel. I've still got the lights up at the moment- and I'll probably keep them into the New Year.
