Communities: It's so hard to keep 'em going! All the ones I'm connected to are pretty much on life support systems. People dot in and say "hi, cool community," and dot out again, which is very nice but hardly advances the conversation. If a post is made people will join in and make comments, but very few people seem to have whatever it takes to initiate threads.

I don't suppose I'm complaining, just making an observation. But being in an LJ community is a bit like sitting in a railway waiting room. There are all these people on benches looking at their feet.

That's a railway waiting room in- lets say- the 1920s. The women wear fur collars and the men wear mufflers. And it's bitterly, bitterly cold.
