For as long as the story about Prince Andrew and Jeffrey Epstein stayed on the inside pages Andrew continued to eat up airmiles and appear on balconies in uniform, but once it escaped onto the front pages he was finished.

His offence wasn't so much that he enjoyed the fringe benefits of friendship with a prolific sex offender- but that he is crap at PR.

Add this to the long list of reasons we'd be better off without the monarchy.

This one of the problems with hereditary monarchy. The succession passes to the first born whether or not they are suited to the role.
