poliphiloI lost the hat-band on my old straw hat (actually made of paper) and we were going to spend the afternoon partying in the garden at Mike and Su's so- on our way through Chadwell Heath- we stopped at Tesco's and I bought a new one (actually made of some sort of fabric). Both the old hat and the new hat come from China- as does everything these days- everything affordable, that is.
The new hat has a narrow brim and makes me look like a Bee Gee- or, at least- that's the cultural association that immediately springs to mind- or maybe like Sinatra or Martin or Davis in their Rat Pack days- only none of them wore their hair as long as I do.
