Wrong Mood

The doc has told Ailz that she has license to wander- so we've made a date to take tea at the hospital cafe this afternoon.

And Joe has heard from the army about final arrangements for his discharge. If I've understood things right they'll pay for him to take a retraining course of his choice.

I watched Almodovar's Bad Education last night- a heartless movie about heartless people- a candy-coloured noir. I didn't like it much, but perhaps I just wasn't in the mood.

I expect your thoughts were elsewhere during the movie.

So the army doesn't just drop Joe into the world again, but offers him a transition that includes training! That is civilized of them.

It's good isn't it? He was really pleased to hear from them.

It is by no stretch of the imagination a feelgood movie. I love it but I think you have to be feeling mentally strong.

In another mood I might have loved it. It's certainly a brilliant piece of work.

I do think you have to be in the right mood for Almodovar. When does Ailz come home with you?

I've watched a couple of his films now. I can see he's talented but he hasn't got under my skin yet.

We don't have a date for Ailz's return home. It's up to the surgeon- who does an assessment every morning.
