A Bad Night
Ailz was taken ill last night and was in terrible pain, so we got her wrapped up in her fur coat and into Joe's car and rushed her to the doctor's. He said magic words and gave her a stemetil injection to stop her being sick (so she could keep down her painkillers) and we came home and she was sick immediately and afterwards began to get better.
This morning she's feeling a bit rough (obviously) but the pain is gone.
So what was it? She described the pain as like having toothache under the ribs. The likeliest diagnosis is an inflamed gall bladder, the second likeliest is plain, old-fashioned food poisoning. Whichever it was, we suspect that the lamb casserole she ate for tea had something to do with it.

I hope she's on the mend now, and am entirely confident that she's getting the best possible TLC with you on the case.

I think she's fully recovered now. We're just going to be careful about what she eats.

We've been researching possible causes on the Net. I'll give gall bladder colic a google.

It does sound like gall bladder. Poor Ailz. Lucky to have you (and Joe)

Joe and Sarah came up trumps- immediately dropped what they were doing and took us to the surgery.

From all I've been reading about gall bladders I think it's pretty certain. She's going to have to watch what she eats- though she does that anyway and the lamb casserole was an aberration.

She's going to have watch what she eats very carefully from now on. She already steers clear of fatty foods, but now she will have to cut them out altogether.

Having had gall bladder attacks and finally a stone that required surgery, I must say the pain sounds the same--I used to have building pain like that, which I haven't had since. But it can also have been something she ate.
The main thing is that she is better.
Poor Ailz. Please give her my love.

She went for a drive this morning.
She's almost back to normal
