poliphiloOur American friend likes visiting the homes of writers so we took her to Batemans- Rudyard Kipling's house- which is just down the road from here.
There have been developments since Ailz and I last visited- most strikingly a dead tree in the garden has been converted- by chainsaw I should imagine- into this forceful, life-sized simulacrum of the author.
