Prequels

How come, when everybody says they hate spoilers, the entertainment industry keeps serving up prequels- which are stories with spoilers built in?

Are you desperate to know what Han Solo got up to before he became Harrison Ford? Me neither.

Well, when it comes to the Star Wars franchise, people kind of lose their sense of perspective. I wouldn't be surprised if in a few years Disney serves up a series of movie epics about events preceding the founding of the Empire. They'll take it as far as they can so long as they can make bank with it.

I know. I've never understood it --- but then I've actually never seen Star Wars.

I saw The Empire Strikes Back, but without the necessary background I mostly couldn't follow it. So I spent the movie being excited that Yoda speaks with a Welsh grammatical structure because that was the only part that made any sense to me.
